Letter from Hubert Taylor to his parents, Beryl, Frank and Bernice, 7 April 1945
Photocopy of a letter from Hubert Taylor to his parents, Beryl, Frank and Bernice dated 7 April 1945. Hubert says how surprised he was to learn that his daughter had been in hospital but is glad she is on the mend. He thanks his parents for all they have done for his wife and children which is a great comfort to him. He notes that his youngest daughter is teething. Hubert reports that he has been unable to arrange accommodation for a break in northern India where it is a bit cooler and the trip may have to be postponed until the end of June, but hopes that the war will be over by then. He tells his mother that he has sent her a cable and a money order for her birthday and has sent his father a £1 note, one that he had brought from home. Hubert says he will drink to his mothers health on Wednesday. He signs off as it is supper time but hopes that his parents will soon start to play bowls and tennis as nights at home are getting lighter.
