Coloured photographic postcard titled “Palm trees (Egypt). Photograph shows palm trees and other plants growing out of a river or lake. Two men are standing on a raft with poles in the water. One man is dressed in a white tunic and hat. The other is wearing red trousers. Six naked boys are standing in the water. The card is addressed to Miss D Mumford 10 Chislehurst Rd Richmond Hill Surrey. The message reads “Dear Dora, shant be able to call in tomorrow as I want to catch the 6.30 train to Teddington we shall come back about 5 to nine so if you are out shopping we may see you so keep a look out for us. are you going to take the lamp to Surbiton Sunday if so we’ll go through park its nearer my bike s 1/6 the (?) wheel wants smashing I thought it would be more What about your (lamp?) , shall I take it into the shop tomorrow as I go out you’ll to have a new burner – they can bring it back with my bike I shall have it at Lucy’s and you take it if I don’t hear from you I’ll take it I cant stay to write more I didn’t have a letter she came round about 12.30 (?)
