Coloured illustrated postcard showing a man in a straw boater with his arm round two ladies. Both ladies are in white dresses – one in red trim and one in blue. The trio are sitting on a fence looking over a cornfield with poppies in the foreground. One of the ladies has hung a straw hat with red ribbon over a fence post. A cottage is in the left background. The picture is labelled “This “Rest Cure” takes up so much of my time” top right and “You must excuse brevity” top left. The card is addressed to Mrs A Pittam, Near Schools, Castlethorpe, Stony Stratford, Bucks” and the message reads “Dear E How are you getting on. All right my self. I expect we shall be having shop outing on Thursday next at [yarmouth?]. You can stop over next Sunday if you like that is if rest cure suits you. Mrs [?] says she is [Dull?] all this time. Mrs F is doing the wash. What does Annie think of this sort of cure x A F”. The card is franked NORTHAMPTON JY 7 08.
