Coloured photographic postcard showing two women outside a whitewashed thatched (fisherman’s?) cottage. One lady holds a bucket and the other is examining something she is holding. A fishing net dries against a wall on which hangs sieves and baskets. The words “A VIEW OF OLD SOUTHPORT” are written in the bottom right corner. The card is addressed to Mrs E Pittam Castlethorpe Stony Stratford Bucks. The message reads “Wednesday Dear A I received your letter safe glad to hear from you and shall be pleased to see you let me know what train and which day you are coming I had a PC from Min (?) today to say she was coming on saturday she left her place on monday last love to Ted and the children and expect the same yourself from all to all Mother with love”. The card is franked CHARLTON NORTHANTS AP 26 11.
