Letter from George Mumford to his sister Sally
Letter from George Mumford to his sister Sally. He has just returned to England and the letter was written in Parkeston Essex. George apologises for not writing sooner. He has heard rumours that his regiment may go to the front on 21 December but hopes there is no truth in that since he has also heard that he might get two days leave for Christmas. He outlines the six changes a train journey home would probably involve and wishes his sister “the best of health”.
