Next to him is a lad holding a bicycle. There are two younger lads and three girls. A pub sign is on the left hand side of the road. The card is labelled “Duston, Northampton” on the bottom left hand corner. The card is addressed to Mrs E Pittam Castlethorpe Stony Stratford Bucks. The message reads “Dear Annie in answer to your pc if you find you are unable to come on sat you need not send any more corn as what you sent will do very nicely never mind about the oats if you don’t come. But we (?) should like you to come. We have just heard that Owen is likely to go off any time he is very ill love to all A T xx” The card is franked NORTHAMPTON 10.15 pm OC 9 07″
