Tongwell Farm
Our family lived at Tongwell Farm just outside Newport Pagnell from 1927 until the farm was acquired by compulsory purchase by the MKDC in 1972. As a family we ended our farming era and went in different directions. My contribution is for everyone to ensure that they record both in word and by photo and video the places where they grew up because you usually only get one chance. I loved my forty years in England in that local area and wish I had done more to record our family history (which I am now trying to rectify). I do however really regret that I know virtually nothing about my maternal grandparent yet I lived just 400 yards from their house on the farm. I do therefore think that we should do everything we can to acquire photographs of previous generation which is I think what you web site is achieving. As a start point I think that the MKDC had a responsibility of recording all areas purchased before their destruction.

Gail,
My father was Frederick Roy Anderson and my grandfather was Charles Frederick Anderson. I really don’t know that much about the history on this side of the family (other than what I have on the internet) as I believe that my dad had a “falling out” with his dad and they barely spoke for many years.
Feel free to drop me a line at [email protected], I would be more than happy to share what little I know.
Bob, I stumbled on this site accidentally. I knew you well in NP, played soccer together.
Are you living in Australia now? I have been I Melbourne for the last 23 years and wondered where you are.
Get in touch if you can – reply via this site or send me a message on 0419582255
Cheers, would be good to hear from you

Hello Anderson Family,
Charles was my great grandfather. I know who Bob is (although we have always known you as Rob!) but I was wondering who Sean is? Who are/were your parents Sean? It would be lovely to find out more about my family.
Thanks,
Gail Ede (neé Pleace)
I lived at tongwell farm cottage from 1963 to about 1967. I played at the farmhouse colouring in. There were kittens called after the Beatles. I went to cedars primary school. My name at the time was Cheryl hodge. I have photos of me on a tractor.
Am sure he will check this page Sean. But I will pass on message just in case
Robert

It’s nice to see Roberts still remembers his roots even in the “New World” Wonder what has happened to his brothers?
Awesome article! Charles was my grandfather, too. Hopefully Bob may get a notification that I have left this message and perhaps we can find some way to get in touch.
