Whitsuntide Holiday
May 22nd. ‘… eventually arrived at Dunoon at 11.30. … Went out in evening, wet disgusted with everything … so retired rather early, fed up’.
May 24 Mon ‘… went for sail round Isles of Bute where we actually found some air, had a grand sail, felt a little more kindly disposed to this side of Scotland’.
August Holiday 1920:
July 29 Thurs. ‘Left home with H. at 7.06. … arrived at Aberdeen 9 a.m. in rather a dilapidated condition’.
Aug 6 Fri. ‘A very rough wind, spent a little time on prom – but far too cold’.
Aug 7 Sat. ‘A grand day, the best day of all as we are returning home today’.
Aug 8 Sun. ‘Arrived home at 11.30 had an hours sleep in afternoon. H. came down for a little while and then I slept the very sleep of the just in Home Sweet Home after spending a very happy holiday’.
