Jan 11 Sat. ‘What a day, raining fast and we are off to give a Concert to the Blind, we bundled M. Wylie, Ethel and myself into a governess cart at the back, and didn’t that thing bolt’.
Feb 28 Thurs.’ Ethel and I went down to a very poor house, where there was sickness and starvation it was too awful’.
April 27 Sun. ‘Went to Church – In the afternoon nearly 1000 people met the Bishop to protest again our old parson’.
May 24 Sat. ‘Such a hot day went with Mazzeppa to Whittlebury forest … it was lovely biking home in the cool of the evening singing as we came along – Happy days’.
Sept 24 Wed. ‘What sights to-day 8 aeroplanes, we have seen fly over, but what excitement when the air ship Delta flew over’.
Nov 12 Wed. ‘Club night, hard at work for concert, got waxey with some of those girls’.
Dec 28 Sun. ‘H. came down for the day. What a fight we had under the mistletoe.’
