April 5 Wed. ‘Went to Coronation meeting … arranged to set up a pageant’.
May 10 Wed. ‘Had a splendid practice for the pageant … enjoyed myself with the (Irish) jig and band’.
June 22 Thur. ‘Coronation Day (pageant). … went down to help decorate our cars at 5.30 how lovely they all looked’.
July 27 Thur. ‘Heard the best of news, Effie cannot sail (to Canada) until Sep 1st. so we shall have her a little longer’.
Sept 20 Sat. ‘Ethel Min and myself with a party of others went on trip to London … We went to Crystal P. as the Band Contest was on ‘.
Dec 8 Sat. ‘…20 of us (the Girls Club) walked to Little Linford Hall Carol Singing for the benefit of the poor in Stantonbury and Mrs Knapp’s Nursing Fund’.
