LAMK appoints first Photographer In Residence

Living Archive MK is delighted to announce the appointment of its first Photographer In Residence. City photographer Sagar Kharecha will be joining LAMK to record local events and capture the memories, communities and culture of Milton Keynes. Sagar is dedicated to recording life in Milton Keynes in all its diversity. He describes himself as a ‘hyperlocal’ photographer and he is fascinated by all aspects of life in the city.
Living Archive MK and Sagar first worked together to co-curate the photographic exhibition MK Together (currently on display in the Discover Milton Keynes space in MK Central Library) and Sagar’s appointment was first announced at the private view of the exhibition on Thursday 23 February. Over recent years it has been difficult for many communities to gather in person, and this joint exhibition celebrates different communities across Milton Keynes as they come together in protest, in commemoration or in celebration.
LAMK is keen to invite writers, musicians, artists and other creatives from across the city to use our archive as a source of inspiration. Do get in touch with your ideas about how we might work together: poppy@livingarchive.org.uk
