Paul Davis' Interview Summary
Paul was born in 1955 and got involved with Willen through his wife, initially as Treasurer and more recently as Chair of Trustees. It was at the time the `key’ charity in Milton Keynes. Paul talks passionately about what else the hospice offers patents with life-limiting illnesses and those in remission, such as therapies including walking and talking. He is working with Buckingham University trying to get people to understand what the whole package of palliative care means. Paul is also working with Macintyre to understand the needs of disabled people when they are dealing with end of life and is also involved in integrating the health care community with Willen so a lot of interactive work is being done. Paul is excited about the new build project to provide facilities for families and is heavily involved in this. Paul says is costs around £9,000,000 a year to run the hospice. The Government offered support during Covid and there were some large legacies which helped keep it open during this time. He thinks that everybody who works at Willen believes in what they are doing and wants the hospice to expand in line with the City and extend the diversity to all groups.
