Michelle and Vaness Ginelly's Interview Summary
Michelle was born in 1973 and her cousin Vanessa in 1981. Michelle got involved with Willen when her Nan came for respite care and then later her mum was admitted to the Hospice. That was when Michelle decided to help fundraise for the hospice. So with Vanessa they did the Midnight Moo. They organised a golf tournament at Windmill Hill and have organised various auctions and pub quizzes. Vanessa has also done several runs to raise funds including the London Marathon several times despite some ill health herself and virtual marathons during Covid. They set themselves financial targets for all the events. To date Michelle and Vanessa have raised around £18,000 for Willen. Every time they raise money they feel good and feel they are helping keep a legacy going as well as helping other people.
Michelle has started a counselling course and hopes to offer Bereavement Counselling at the hospice. They both believe Willen is providing something that is not available anywhere else like the special personal care each patient receives.
