Jane Henshaw's Interview Summary
Jane was born in 1945 and became a Willen Hospice Trustee in 1984. She already knew Leslie Jell from her work in Netherfield. Marjorie Reid was the Medical Director at the time. Other Trustees she knew included David Miles, Lady Tompkins, Lady Duncombe, Peter Fisher and Geoffrey Leaver. She was given responsibility for the Newsletter, which Xerox produced and distributed for free. She served as a member of Milton Keynes Health Authority and was a Willen Trustee until 2010. She saw the professionalisation of fundraising and management, the development of the Hospice and the expansion of medical staff and services.
She remembered the horses and early pets, Lady Duncombe doing the ironing and the visit of Princess Diana. She recalled the early Midnight Moos, Alternative Ascots and Lights of Loves and how they linked the Hospice to the community. Her proudest achievement was to have been involved in the growth and continuity of the Hospice.
