“From the Anglo Saxon Village and Parish name ‘Luha’s Tun””.
“The development of the new city has enabled Milton Keynes to become the most intensively studied archaeological landscape in this county. In the last twenty years the story of the people who have lived and died here during the past 10,000 years has gradually unfolded. This series of leaflets describes some of the many sites that have been discovered and which have now been integrated into developments or incorporated into the parks. This one, about the history of Loughton Village, complements medieval earthworks. A stroll around the older parts of the village will evoke a sense of its history.
There are two maps which show where to find Loughton Village.
Information is given about the Little Loughton, Great Loughton and the Medieval Field System.
There are drawings of the village; the houses, the bridge and the church at Little Loughton.
There are also descriptions, with drawings, of objects which were part of everyday life in the village.
