Ancient Monuments in Milton Keynes: The Ouzel Valley
Ancient Monuments in Milton Keynes: The Ouzel Valley
“This leaflet describes the ancient monument sites that can be found in the Ouse Valley.”
“Two other areas of the city, the Loughton and Ouse Valleys, also contain ancient monument sites for which similar leaflets have been produced. There are nineteen such sites within the city area which are or will be open to the public. Fourteen have been designated by the DoE as scheduled sites and others have been protected permanently by the Development Corporation as part of its planning for the city.”
“The inclusion of some sites, such as Bancroft Roman Villa, has resulted directly from the work carried out by the Archaeological Unit identifying and excavating the site.”
There is information on the facilities and access and the archaeological sites and churches.
There is also a list of other leaflets in the series and where to find information about picnic sites in Milton Keynes.
