Object No.5
Lectern, 1986
In 1986 the West End Church underwent a complete refurbishment. The church had originally a front door on to Church Street and the altar was at the opposite end of the church to where it is today, with wooden pews lining a central aisle.
Those pews were the wood from which this lectern, the new altar rail, all of the Sanctuary (altar) furniture (excluding the chairs) and the Cross were made. This work was carried out by a local carpenter.
