This hand made wheel-barrow was made by Alf (Sammy) Horton at Wolverton Works. It is very sturdy but is incredibly heavy even when empty – so Orchard members have retired it and now use it as a planter! Alf was Blacksmith at the Works and was a long time owner of the Orchard railway carriage. He was well known in village cricket and football and after moving to Wolverton was a long serving member of the Town Band.
