Object No.80
Co-op bread cart, pre 1917
This horse-drawn cart was owned by the Industrial & Mutual Society of Wolverton and delivered bread around the town’s streets. In 1919 the Industrial & Provident Society was bought out by the Co-operative Society and the Co-op dominated retail life in the town for the next 60 years. This cart was lovingly restored by Brian Faulkner of Stony Stratford in 1976-77.
