Interview with Anna Cookson (b.1944).
Anna Cookson moved to the area in 1981 with her husband and family to be nearer to her husband’s job at the Open University. She remembers the difficulties and delays of their move to Bow Brickhill. She talks of her feeling of isolation, in a large house; but she made friends through playgroup and school. In her opinion Milton Keynes had many advantages for a growing family; she recalls all the activities that were available as MK developed.
She talks of aspects of the development, such as housing, healthcare and leisure. In her opinion MK has become more friendly and exciting as it has developed and the population has grown. The Theatre in particular ‘is providing a bigger heart’ for the city.
