The Grand Union Canal Milton Keynes
The Grand Union Canal Milton Keynes
“The city of Milton Keynes has been created on 22,000 acres of former farmland. Over the last twenty five years, new schools, shops, factories, offices, balancing lakes, parks and thousands of houses have been built, all lined by hundreds of miles of roads and landscaping. But in the middle of this hustle and bustle runs the Grand Union Canal, a two hundred year old transport system, virtually unchanged throughout its long and fascinating history.”
The leaflet has information on the Grand Union Canals past, present and future. On the inside of the leaflet there are examples of what runs next to the Grand Union Canal in the town of Milton Keynes. The distance of each of these places from the nearest bridge on the Grand Union Canal is provided. The places are; Grafton Street Aqueduct, Iron Trunk Aqueduct, Stony Stratford, Willen Lakes, Linford Manor Park, Grand Junction Canal Trail, Central Milton Keynes, Loughton Valley Park, Brick Kilns, Woughton Marina and Fenny Stratford Lock. Most of these have pictures next to their description.
There is a map which shows where these bridges are located along the Canal, estate names and the roads next to the canal.
On the back cover of the leaflet there are addresses and contact information.
