England Mini-Guide: Milton Keynes and District
England Mini-Guide: Milton Keynes and District
“Milton Keynes is a unique city. In 1967 Central Government announced plans to establish a new city in North Buckinghamshire around the three towns of Stony Stratford, Wolverton and Bletchley and thirteen villages-an area with a population of 40,000. Already the population has reached 117,000 and by 1990 some 150,000 people will be living and working here.”
The leaflet gives some introductory information about the network of roads, the parkland, modern shopping centre, old villages, leisure centres and theatre facilities and its location.
There is further examples given under “Where to go, what to see”. The suggestions are of the historic houses in and around Milton Keynes, the zoos/wildlife, railways, tourist information centres, churches, the countryside, shopping, parks and woods, waterways, leisure centres and towns in the vicinity.
There are a few coloured pictures which are labelled.
There is also a map of Milton Keynes. It has a key and has labelled the tourist information centre, the shopping complex, the car park, picnic facilities, places to fish, day river cruises, the golf course, places to canoe, the locks, nature trails and sailing facilities.
