The Wesley Tree in Market Square
Market Square in Stony Stratford, with the old elm tree known as the Wesley Tree, named after the evangelist John Wesley who preached near it in the late 1700s. To the right of the tree is The Crown public house, a 17th and 18th century building, and to the left is an 18th century building, formerly the Queen’s Head public house, later Wolverton Urban District Council Offices.
