My Mother Vera Stones worked for McCorquodale printing works after leaving school aged 14 in about 1930 she trained and became a Certifier. I believe she worked in a secure area as she checked postal orders printed in the factory.
She lodged in Windsor Street but left Wolverton in 1937 after marrying my Dad.
My Dad Frederick Lister who also lived in Windsor Street had completed his Apprenticeship at the Railway Works in the early 1930s he had managed to get a job in Coventry as a coach painter and sign writer and that’s where Mum and Dad settled after there marriage in St. George’s Church, Wolverton.
