Object No.15

This special commemorative cover, marking the Cricket Club’s centenary, was produced by the Wolverton Philatelic Society. The Society was set up in 1963 by keen local stamp collectors from the Railway Works. They met in the top room of the old Dining Hall on the first Wednesday of every month and in its heyday it had 80 members, with 30-40 attending every meeting. The Society produced its first First Day Cover in 1975. The covers used to be designed by Eric Instone of New Bradwell and Stan Light produced the cancellation designs.
