Pic: Zerena returns to Planet Earth and meets Michael Rosen.
Part of Educating Zerena 2022. Presented by Living Archive MK in association with MK Gallery, Inter-Action MK and MAKE.
Michael Rosen is one of our best loved children’s writers. He is a poet, scriptwriter broadcaster and performer. He regularly lectures and teaches in universities on children’s literature, reading and writing and is the former Children’s Laureate.
This is a recording of the talk given on October 19 2022 at MK Gallery as part of series of events celebrating and exploring the ideas behind The Zerena Project (1988) which took place in Fishermead.
Michael spoke at a special event inviting teachers, educators, academics and artists from across Milton Keynes, reflecting on the documentary film Educating Zerena: An Alien Encounter, schools today and creativity.
Before Michael’s talk Living Archive screened Educating Zerena: An Alien Encounter, directed by Roger Kitchen, featuring the amazing story of what happened in 1988 when a spacecraft landed in the grounds of Newlyn Place First School and the alien Zerena emerged.
