I was in the same class as Bernice 3d the A class. She wrote some amusing poetry some of which was printed in ‘The Wolvertonian’ the scool magazine
One I remember was about one of the groundsmen
This is the story of Fred
Who drove his mower in bed.
He drove it to the moon if you please
To see it it was made of green cheese.
There he met a Martian munroe
Who said her Christian name was Flo.
And Flo Munroe as you might guess
Had long blond hair and a low cut dress.
I do not remember the rest
Not bad to remember this from 1957
Our form teacher was the maths teacher Miss R O Davey whose birthday was the same as mine
She was petit and a fantastic teacher. Other brilliant teachers:iss Lidster Latin and mauve hair once a week. Mr Thomas French, whose daughter Helen was also in 3d. Mr Nutt Music Mr Philo chemistry and Mr Johnston biology. Miss Zillah Full taught RE and games. She and I had many arguments in RE as I did not agree with her interpretation of some parts of the bible I usually got D for RE or Divinity as it was called then
