Interview with Tariq Raja
Tariq moved to Milton Keynes from Islamabad, Pakistan. He talks about being a new arrival to Milton Keynes when the terrorist attack of 7/7 happened. He had never experienced being a minority before. He cites the importance of the friends that he made locally, who were welcoming and open, and shares how he feels integration is very important and that, ‘if it wasn’t for Milton Keynes being what it is, which is a group of migrants coming together forming this new city,’ perhaps he might not have been welcomed with such an open mind.
