'Bigger, Brighter, Better' Script Act 1 Scene 5.
Act 1 Scene5
Bletchley’s post-war house building went exceptionally well and councillors and their officials were keen to up and the town further and offer accommodation to Londoners in housing need. But to do this they needed help from the Government to finance the building of the new houses, factories and other amenities. Councillors had promised local ratepayers that such development ‘would not put one penny on the rates’.
