Birmingham Herald - Report on half-yearly report of the London & Birmingham Railway Company (1837).

Photocopy of an extract from an article published in the Birmingham Herald (9th March 1837) regarding the London and Birmingham Railway. The article questions remarks previously published in the Mechanics’ Magazine, extracted from the seventh, half-yearly report of the London and Birmingham Railway Company. The newspaper’s stance is that the publication of this report had had an ‘injurious influence’ on all railway projects., therefore there should be an ‘earnest inquiry’ into all the facts. The article continues for several pages presenting the negative facts, as published, questioning them, re-examining them and putting forward the positive case.
