Week 3: OUT OF THE ASHES
On 1st January 1996 the Milton Keynes Museum was ravaged by a fire that destroyed many of its precious exhibits. The story of the fire and the activities at the Museum at the time were captured by students on a Living Archive Media Skills course. The purpose of the course was to teach basic IT skills which was done through the trainees researching local history and producing products – exhibitions, booklets, radio programmes etc – based on that research. The video tutor was Louise Roche and other films made on these courses will feature in future editions of Wolverton on Film. For a look at what is happening now at Milton Keynes Museum, visit their website: https://www.miltonkeynesmuseum.org.uk
