Professor Prism band parade
Professor Prism band parade
Carolyn Gorney and George King, leading a band, all in costume. Text with the photo reads “Professor Prism was our first street project in Milton Keynes. On Friday mornings we worked on a chosen estate with a big parade, rhythm band and show. These events presented the theme of looking for relics of an ancient civilisation. The children (of all ages) spent the weekend re-creating the culture of the lost people on their own estate. This often included building dwellings in which they slept overnight. Parents were heavily involved in the project, both in youth-work and in the preparation of the show, e.g. playing in the band or making and painting costumes. This show was performed on six different housing estates over the summer.”
