Eden Storm They/she
Eden Storm identifies as queer and was born in Milton Keynes in 1998. In this interview they reflect on their journey from isolation and workplace discrimination to finding belonging and purpose through Q:alliance in Milton Keynes. Initially a volunteer, Eden became deeply involved with the LGBTQ+ community, eventually leading the Q:alliance Heritage Project. This initiative uncovered extensive queer history in Milton Keynes, including key figures like Veronica Pickles and spaces such as The Bakehouse. Eden’s role expanded to include facilitating adult spaces and developing educational resources for schools. Through oral histories, archival research and community events, the project not only documented local LGBTQ+ heritage but also fostered community healing and empowerment. Personally, Eden describes their experience with Q:alliance as life-changing, providing a supportive environment to explore gender identity and neurodiversity, and to contribute meaningfully to a community they now consider home.
