Air Mail Letters to AC1 Douglas Cowlishaw 1943 to 1945
Air Mail letters and Forces letters to Douglas Cowlishaw while he was serving abroad with the RAF, from various family members. AC1 means Aircraftman 1st Class. [Forces letters were introduced in 1945 for writing to members of the armed forces serving overseas. They were at the reduced price of one and a half pence compared to six pence for the civilian air mail letter.]
