The ladies were travelling from Birmingham to Blisworth and were unable to collect their luggage on arrival at their destination. ALC/022/005 Brief account of an incident reported in an un-named Liverpool newspaper regarding a delay in the delivery of the London mail to Liverpool. This was due to a railroad accident in the vicinity of Weedon. Northampton Herald - Editorial reply to Mercury letter regarding the expence of rail travel (1838). ALC/022/006 Editorial reply to assertation in letter published in the Northampton Mercury that rail travel is ‘twice as cheap and three times as fast as any other conveyance’.
