Jamie Truan
Jamie is in his early 20s and works as a music teacher at the Radcliffe School in Wolverton, where he has lived all his life surrounded by family and friends. He is in his first year of teaching at Radcliffe and enjoys it very much. He plays piano, guitar and drums and is self-taught. He studied in Leeds and initially wanted to go into football scouting, but then opted to use his musical skills to find a job.
Jamie says that central Milton Keynes has changed during his lifetime with more designer shops and that the cultural diversity of Wolverton has grown. He enjoys using the green spaces for sports and leisure and particularly playing football, having played for Great Linford Cougars when he was growing up. Jamie likes having family close by in a community where everyone knows each other “…the social aspect of Milton Keynes is the best part.”
He enjoys socialising with friends in venues such as the Fox & Hounds in Stony Stratford and his former band played at the Craufurd Arms. He feels that local nightlife is lacking now and that if there were more options it would bring more people to the area. If the planned MK University goes ahead then the influx of students will create a better nightlife for the city. He’d like to see an increase in sporting provision too.
