Collection of photographs relating to Stony Stratford
Collection of photographs showing scenes in Stony Stratford, they include the shops, and the Angel Inn in the High Street the date of these are unknown but a further photograph shows the High Street in 1882. There are 2 photographs showing a parade and the horse and cart from parade which appears to be advertising the Stony Stratford Industrial and Provident Society. The 3 remaining photographs show Stony Stratford Christmas 1904, a Tram, in colour, and Westley removals van.
Would there be a mention of a Cyril Harold Patterson and his wife Sarah in the diaries or memoirs?? They were living at 2 Horsefair Green in 1939. Cyril was the school caretaker (possibly St Marys and St Giles, King George Crescent). If you can help I would love to hear from you. Kind regards, Fiona Webb
I am to give talk on Snipits of Stony Stratford past and its characters Having been left by Miss Plumb the Plumb Diaries kept started by her mother a daily recording of life and places in Stony unknown by anyone as never written about in books written We knew Miss Plumb through church herself a school teacher at the school which is Plough Pub buying her house 49 Horsefair Green 1958 I worked at Wilymans Chemist from the age of 15 Rosalie Osborne Rosalie Goodman in earlier years living at 43 London Road going to York House School age now almost 84 years old 26-05-2022
