Two ropes about 3 metres long are used. You turn the ropes in opposite directions, each one towards the middle. Once the rhythm is established the skipper jumps in and jumps to avoid the ropes for the duration of the song or rhyme.

This one could be used as a counting out rhyme. Possibly the word 'election' is used in that context. 'You're elected' or you're 'in'.  Use chalk on tarmac (or srcatch into dirt) the numbers in boxes same as the diagram (shown right). You take it in turms to throw a stone into the correct box . Your first turn would be 1, your second 2, and so on. You then have to hop and jump up the numbers avoid those with a stone on. If you miss and your stone falls in the wrong box, it is your opponent's turn. |
