Uganda was the
destination from which many Asian families
came to Britain in 1972 when they were expelled
from the country by the then President Idi
Amin. Many years previously many Indians had
crossed the Indian Ocean to settle in Africa,
moving inland to Uganda. This land-locked
country enjoys a long shore line along Lake
Victoria.
