The documentary tells the mysterious and often fascinating tale of Frederick Burrett – better known as Freddie Burretti, David Bowie’s close friend and key early ’70s Ziggy Stardust costume collaborator and stylist.
It also covers in detail Freddie’s early school years and friendships in Bletchley. His brief but heady years of international fame and unexpected mid-70s split with Bowie, his strange disappearance in the Middle East, through to the secretive, intriguing final years of his life in France.
Ultimately it provides a unique and fascinating insight into the legend of Freddie Burretti, and how this gifted boy from Bletchley became such an important and respected figure in David Bowie’s life and an inspiration for British Fashion.
Made on a basic budget but with a lot of passion, Lee Scriven’s imaginative take on the fable will leave you in no doubt that Freddie Burretti was indeed The Man Who Sewed The World.
