Following the recent callout for our Future Songwriters project, we are delighted to announce that we will be working with the following songwriters.
All the successful songwriters will attend a documentary songwriting workshop and will have the opportunity to apply for a commission and performance at Living Archive’s 40th Anniversary concert in October 2024.

Ayesha Nightingale is a pan-genre songwriter, recording artist, and songwriting researcher. Born and raised in Milton Keynes, they now work primarily in London; collaborating with artists from around the country. Recording and performing as Juno Knight, their latest EP ‘all the chance in hell’ was released on 9 April 2024.

Ian Roberts is a local singer/songwriter who has been performing for many years; his band Tinkers Lane has performed all over the country and recorded two albums to date. He writes and performs in different styles and genres.

Isaac Aguma was born and raised in Uganda and recently moved to the MK area. In 2021, he co-founded a community arts project called Tambularts. He describes music as his ‘place of peace.’

Jenn Catterall describes music as a ‘compulsion’, using hip-hop, spoken word, layered blends of music genres, cinematic soundscapes and samples including DIY foley to create songs. Jenn’s performances are big on stage presence and characterization.

Joe Bygraves is a local songwriter and performer who has had over 240k streams on Spotify. He wrote and performed the anthem of the #WeMakeEvents movement, ‘Stand As One’, to represent the plight of the music and entertainment industry during the coronavirus pandemic.

Naomi Rose is a singer/songwriter and a primary school teacher who works in Fishermead. Her songwriting style is folky and quirky. A long-term resident of MK, she has been involved in many projects aiming to raise the profile of local music.
Natasha Seale is a jazz musician & songwriter with a background in theatre. Well known to local audiences; she is also a teacher and vocal coach. Her original songs explore personal and political parallels within the context of womanhood.

Serena Robb (writing and performing as The Isle of CC) was born and raised in Milton Keynes and has a significant following locally and on social media as a performer, music journalist and director of Wordplay Magazine. Musically, Serena mainly works in the genres of Neo-Soul, R&B and Electronica.

Sheniah Asiamah is a local performer and songwriter. Proudly born and bred in Milton Keynes, she has collaborated with many local musicians. She is inspired by folk, americana, blues and country music; above all she loves ‘melodies, compositions and stories’.
