Interview with Roy Nevitt (b. 1939).
Roy Nevitt moved to Stony Stratford in 1967, initially to work as a lecturer in drama at Bletchley Teacher Training College. After two years there and three and a half years in the USA, he returned to Stony Stratford and was appointed Director of Drama at Stantonbury Campus. He talks of his heavy involvement in building up community drama in the new city, liaising with Arts Officers at the Milton Keynes Development Corporation, mentioning East Midlands Arts, and the setting up of MK Arts Association and the MK Theatre Consortium. He praises the many arts activities that evolved at ground roots level in the new city, as a result of the pioneering spirit. He is now Chair of the MK Theatre and Gallery Company, and is very proud of what has been achieved there, and future potential.
