Interview with Maggie Nevitt (b.1939).
Maggie Nevitt was born and brought up in Northampton. She and her husband Roy bought a house in Stony Stratford in 1967 and she taught at New Bradwell School. After a few years in the United States and some time in London, they returned to Stony in 1972 and have lived there for 35 years. She recalls Stony Stratford as it was in 1967, shopping and transport and the later developments when they returned there in 1972, and comments on local reactions to Milton Keynes.
She talks about Milton Keynes Foundation and the Community Trust and the types of projects they funded; they were merged in 1996/1997. In 1989 she became Advisor to the Milton Keynes Foundation, and then Arts Consultant to the Community Trust. Maggie, Roy and Roger Kitchen set up The Living Archive Project; she describes its operation. As Development Manager, her role was to bring to realisation the docu-dramas, the Living Archive Press, the Theatre of Fact and the theatre and education campaigns.
