Peter Winkleman discussing the new stadium and Diane Maclean with her artwork at Xscape
This is a 30 minute film clip consisting of two interviews. The first is with Peter Winkleman by Colin Burbidge about the plans for the football stadium and the second is with Diane MacLean about her sculpture at X-scape.
The first five minutes of the film shows Peter Winkleman being interviewed by Colin Burbidge in the grounds of Linford Manor during a garden party in the summer of 1997. The interview talks about the plans for a new football stadium and finding a football club.
00:05:09 there is silent film footage showing Colin Burbidge and Peter Winkleman talking and walking through the garden.
00:07:40 Colin Burbidge is filmed reading the questions that he posed to Peter Winkleman.
00:08:35 to 00:13:58 shows footage of the drawings, plans and elevations of the proposed stadium with Peter Winkleman talking in the background at points.
The second section of the film is of an interview with Diane Maclean about her sculpture outside X-Scape. The sculpture consists of four metal panels, shaped like the X-scape building, at approximately right angles to each other. Two panels have benches attached.
00:14:53 the film starts again at with a view of two women sat on the sculpture smoking, the shot zooms in and out several times.
00:15:51 the film cuts to Diane Maclean talking, there is music playing in the back ground. The camera zooms in to close ups and more distance shots.
00:16:37 the interview starts. During the interview Diane talks about how she was selected and the design and build of the sculpture. She also says how pleased she is with the final sculpture.
After the interview the interviewer says her questions to camera.
00:22:40 there is then a short clip in which Diane talks about the features and look of the sculpture.
The end of the film shows Diane walking around the sculpture, shots of the sculpture and surroundings and Diane and the interviewer talking about the features of the sculpture.
