The arrival and construction of the set and lighting for the first show
Film of the arrival and construction of the set and lighting for the first show at Milton Keynes Theatre in 1999. A number of the scenes at the beginning are repeated and filmed from different angles.
The film starts outside the theatre as a blue articulated lorry with the words `Paul Mathew International` in white backs onto the loading dock. The film cuts to inside the theatre loading dock where a man, John, checks his clipboard and meets the driver from the lorry. We then see them in several scenes on the stage and looking at the lighting. The camera cuts to the loading dock where the door is raised and people unload the lorry. The camera cuts between the stage to show the scenery being set up and the lorry where it is unloaded.
00:14:30 the camera cuts to the lighting being unpacked and then back to the framework being boarded out. We see the lighting being fixed and the scenery brought in. Props are placed on the stage as the scenery is built. The backdrops and lighting are fixed to the rails and pulled up.
