Judith Taylor She/her
Judith Taylor identifies as straight and was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in 1953. She is a former nurse and became involved with the LGBTQ+ community in Milton Keynes after taking a role as an outreach worker for YouthLine from 2000 to 2003. Initially unfamiliar with LGBTQ+ issues, her journey was sparked by her own son coming out as gay, which inspired her to better understand and support the community. Through her outreach and therapeutic counselling, she worked to combat homophobia, improve youth confidence, and advocate for acceptance in schools and society. She co-founded a local FFLAG (Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) support group with her husband, providing vital support to parents. Judith also worked with the Milton Keynes Christian Foundation, continuing her advocacy and support work. Her experience profoundly changed her perspective, making her more open and accepting, and she credits her work, particularly under the mentorship of Tony O’Shea, with transforming her life and helping her better support her son and others in the LGBTQ+ community.
