I’ve got the National Fire Brigades Union Long Service Medal to Charles Lyall Mason who was the Chief Officer of the Wolverton Works Fire Brigade.
Unfortunately I don’t have his other medals which were; Military Cross, 1914 Star & Clasp, British War Medal & Allied Victory Medal with MID emblem.
He was in the Royal Engineers, starting as a Sapper & finishing as a Captain/Temporary Major.
He served in ‘France & Flanders’ before serving with the Anzacs in the Middle East area & then returned to ‘France & Flanders’. He was Mentioned in Dispatches 4 times & was awarded the Military Cross in the King’s Birthday Honours in 1916.
