Norma Demarco talks about the importance of Scottish traditions to her. She describes Hogmany and New Years Day, Burns Night and traditional Scottish food, Stovies, shortbread, haggis, neeps (swede) and tatties (potatoes) and whisky. Objects special to her area copy of Robbie Burns poetry, she reads his famous poem called ‘To a Mouse’ and explains why Scottish people say ‘wee’. The second object is a traditional Scottish kilt with a sporran and sgian dubh (dagger) used in battle and in hunting. She explains about clans and the naming of tartans after them.
