Chris Birchenough previously worked as a gardener for the Bishop of London. He describes his job there and living in the Lodge he has some photos of the Lodge in the 1800s, recalls moving to Milton Keynes in its early years. His family traditions are Easter and Christmas when all his family get together on Christmas afternoon. One of his special objects is a walking stick presented to his grandfather for working in the Sheffield Steel industry for fifty years. His second object is a stamp which was used on paperwork for his family’s business. His father and generations before him were stonemasons or Monumental Sculptors. Chris has tried stonemasonry on a course at Lincoln Cathedral, he describes making a plinth.
