Reservoir Goodman was my grandmother many people think she was called Reservoir being born by a reservoir this is not the case Resevoi is an old Romany gypsy traveler name Her maiden name was Loveridge My grandfather Edward Goodman was from Newport Pagnell his father had a butchers shop situated in Silver Street, Edward ran away with the gypsy family going on to marry Reservoir Edward (Ted Goodman) was my father having one of two scrap yard New Bradwell the first caravans were in Newport Road 2 of them My Aunt Marge twin of Mary told me their was always a pot of food boiling and was known to feed a lot of the poor children of New Bradwell i would like to let people know we are not tinkers but true romany I could go on and on having done a chapter of this remarkable family in my memoir There is still one of our yard today A Goodman Tavistock Street Bletchley a few of us original cousins alive seeing each other Rosalie Osborne nee Goodman 19 04 2021
